Ever since it was established back in March 1997, Pulse’s main aim has always been to voice student concerns in whatever issues concern them and to represent them in whatever they may need. The organization works in three major sectors. It aims to offer students services and represent students’ in whatever issues concern them as well as drafting policies which reflect the organizations’ social democratic beliefs. Pulse has never ceased to stop working in these three sectors.
Pulse has continuously worked at the Junior College to represent students and present them with different opportunities ranging from educational to social events. Furthermore 2009/2010 proved to be a landmark year for the organization where it witnessed its third consecutive electoral success which proves how much the organization has the college’s interests at heart.
At University the organization also works constantly to ensure that students are represented in the best possible way. This year the organization launched its proportional representation campaign which was intended to further student representation.
Furthermore the organization has served students at the Junior College and the University in issues such as the MUT/UMASA crisis, the Youth in Action suspension of funds, the parking issue and much more.
Pulse has also sought to defend students’ rights in issues which do not necessarily have to do with the University or the Junior College. Pulse was present to defend students attending the MCAST during their industrial dispute.
