Exactly 4 months after being offered a role on the Pulse executive board, here I am, writing the very first blog on this new website for the organisation. Writing this blog was as daunting a challenge as when I found out that I was going to be working on this website. This challenge was overcome with the help of all the members of the executive and today we are really proud that we have this fresh and innovative website up and running.
After working tirelessly during 2009/2010, the Pulse executive is looking forward enthusiastically towards the next scholastic year. We are very proud that during 2009/2010, according to the KSU CONF report, we were confirmed as the most active student organisation. However that is not enough. We want to build on that success and further strengthen our operations both on campus at the University of Malta, the Junior College and other educational institutions such as MCAST and the Higher Secondary.

For this reason, the Pulse team has decided to invest in this new website which can give us more exposure and to enable us to communicate our message better with students through internet.

As my colleagues and I have said time and over again, at Pulse, our aim is to defend student rights and safeguard their interests’. Through this website we hope we will better pursue our goal to represent students in the best possible way. This investment will provide us with an opportunity to be closer to students. Therefore, students are encouraged to contact us with any queries, complaints and feedback.

Skimming through the content of our new, original website, one can find a lot of information about Pulse, its policies and beliefs as well as information that is relevant to any student during their studies. The content in this new, unique and creative website of ours ranges from information about the origins of Pulse and its beliefs to blogs that shall showcase students’ opinions.

Last but not least, I would like to encourage all students at the University, Junior College or whatever educational institution they form part of, to be active during their student lives. Student organisation isn’t just a waste of time. Student organisations don’t just stand there and do nothing. Every student organisation has its own goals which it aims to pursue. Furthermore, these organisations provide students’ with challenges they would be facing in everyday life such as communicating with one another and much more.

Pulse believes that students should contribute and take part in extra curricular activities to reap the full benefits of their student lives. After all, University and JC aren’t just about text books and studying ( mind you, they’re still very important ).

We would like to encourage any student to come forward to Pulse with any complaints or suggestions. We are here for you. Moreover, any student who would like to contribute and join the Pulse team should not hesitate to contact us on info@pulse.org.mt .

Regards,
Glenn Micallef | PRO
